Reminiscent of the new classic, “Trick Or Treat”, CANDY is Haunted Oaks prime Halloween flick that takes you to the edge of your gore limits. If it was a classic, suspense-and-jump flick you were looking for at our festival, CANDY is your movie. “I made CANDY because I love cheesy horror and wanted to make a relatable little horror film even your grandmother could enjoy,” director Nelsen Vicens explains.
The tagline aptly describes: “Some forget the meaning of TRICK or treat… this little boy wants to remind them.” Vicens speaks on his own fears and what scares him during this special, autumn season, “The things that scare me are hard to film because they live in the mind. We all have our demons, we all suffer in our own ways. Ghosts, witches, and fantastical monsters don’t hold a candle to the horrors of humanity.”
We don’t want to give away the ending, but we can ensure it will be a fun until the last shot. Vicens admits, “I hope people have a fun ride and feel some tension at the very end, this is supposed to be a sweet and silly experience. It’s called CANDY after all! I hope the audience forgets about the terrors of the world as they lose themselves in the thrill of a Halloween-flavored joy ride.”
Who wants some candy?! Catch CANDY on the big screen on Saturday, October first at The Oaks Theater! Doors open at 6:00 pm, and the lights will go down at 7:30 pm.
